The project against domestic violence conducts planned visits to communities to provide care and educational talks

During the month of September, the project against domestic violence carried out various visits to communities in the municipalities of La Trinidad, San Nicolás, and Estelí. The main objective was to provide psychological and psychosocial care, as well as educational talks focusing on key topics such as child abuse, domestic violence, sexual and reproductive health, and the effects of substance use.

Additionally, as part of professional development, nursing, psychology, and social work students from UNAN Managua, CUR Estelí, participated in the first psychosocial training seminars in the regular modality. These were facilitated by the Project Against Domestic Violence, PDH Luz Marilis López from Boston University, and Lyn Styczynski and Lenny Greenberg from the Family Institute.

The main topic covered in these courses was: the comprehensive dimension of sexual abuse from therapeutic and multidisciplinary approaches, addressing points such as: a holistic understanding of sexual abuse, intervention with the family, and support networks.
