Domestic violence project activities in July
In July, the ICES Project Against Domestic Violence made five visits to the communities of the municipality of San Nicolás and La Trinidad, facilitating talks on emotional care in situations such as breast cancer, diabetes and other complicated pathologies, as well as addressing issues of mental and emotional health, sharing practical tips for people and their families to maintain a healthy balance in the concerns and anxieties.
The ICES team provided psychosocial attention to 25 patients as well as legal advice where relevant in addition to sharing talks and workshop with 130 paarticipants.
As part of the commitment and coordination with the health project, the team attended an 11-month-old girl with cleft lip and Down syndrome, accompanying her to a specialized pediatric evaluation, she was also ensuring she gets the necessary medication. The project generally follows up this kind of patient need with psycho-emotional therapies and, if necessary physiotherapy.
